Sustainable Finance 101 Training

Within Defra and many teams across HMG there is a lack of training and understanding of private financing in climate and nature. The latter, most recently, has seen a huge drive internationally to mobilise private finance for nature recovery and with the Prime Minister's announcement of a 10 point plan for green industrial revolution focusing around finance, sustainable finance knowledge is severely needed. 2021 is a key year for these policy areas and therefore this training cannot come soon enough.

Participants will overall gain a better knowledge of sustainable finance, particularly understandings and processes of private finance, mobilising this finance and what it means to have a positive environmental and social impact. They will also be able to analyse the role of public policy in motivating investment into sustainability and how sustainable finance is shaped by public policy.
