Pre-Procurement Market Engagement for Community Glaucoma and Ocular Hypertension (OHT) Service

East and North Hertfordshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is committed to improving local eye healthcare services across the East and North Hertfordshire area in line with its strategic ambitions that are included in the CCG’s 5-year Operational Plan to support/deliver against the NHS Constitution and the NHS Five Year Forward View. As part of this commitment, the CCG believe that specific eye conditions can be appropriately treated in a community setting, improving the accessibility of services to patients for these conditions and thereby reducing pressure on hospital eye care providers by ensuring that only those patients that meet the referral pathway criteria for hospital eye care are referred to these services.

As such East and North Hertfordshire CCG wish to commission a single Prime Provider offering Community Glaucoma and OHT services to suit the needs of the local population and integrated with hospital eye care providers to ensure seamless pathways of care.

The service will support the CCG’s aim to ensure that care is provided in the right place, at the right time and by the right healthcare professional.

The estimated Total contract value excluding VAT is £3m over 60 months.

The estimated contract duration term is 36 months (estimated contract value £1.8m) plus an option to extend for an additional 24 months (maximum of a 5 year contract).

To support the Procurement process East and North Hertfordshire CCG plans to hold a pre-procurement ‘Market Awareness Provider Event’ in the morning on 19th October 2016 at:

Bio Park, Broadwater Road, Welwyn Garden City, AL7 3AX

The purpose of the event will be to discuss at a high level East and North Hertfordshire CCG’s intentions and to use the knowledge of the market to help inform elements of the service specification. The procurement process and timetable will also be shared.

Attain acting on behalf of the CCG intends to use an e-tendering system in this procurement. The e-tendering system and registering an expression of interest can be accessed by following the instructions below. A user guide is also attached for reference.
