WoodMac is the definitive source of information on upstream oil and gas fields on the UK Continental Shelf. The type of data they hold and the comprehensiveness of the data is not available from any other single source available on the market. In OGEP we use this data to understand how market events, e.g. low oil price disruption, or Mergers and Acquisitions, or other disruptive events may impact on production from the UKCS and on UK Government policies around energy security of supply. The analysis of the future of production, field life and decommissioning in the UKCS and broader is also very helpful in identifying risks and opportunities for the basin and we use the information to brief Ministers as appropriate on field/operator specific issues. WoodMac is also used by commercial experts who need to understand how market events can impact on individual businesses and by officials from the International Energy Unit who need a good overview of UK oil and gas production and flows.
