description

  • a)A105 Loading Review

The purpose of the study is to gather information about current loading/unloading behaviour in the following locations:

Green Lanes, Palmers Green town centre (between Fox Lane & Aldermans Hill)
Green Lanes, Winchmore Hill Broadway (between Queens Avenue & Station Road)
Green Lanes, Vicars Moor Lane (between Firs Lane & Elm Park Road)

Cameras should be installed and kept in place for one week to obtain information about the way in which loading and unloading is taking place. Based on the results of the camera surveys, two days should be selected for detailed analysis, collecting at least the following information for both days:

Type of delivery vehicle
Time and duration of delivery
Exact location of delivery
Compliance with loading restrictions
General observations about the impact of loading/unloading on the other road users

The results of the survey should be presented in a short technical report.

  • b)Cockfosters Road

Using the results of previously collected turning counts, the purpose of the study is to assess the impact of installing mini-roundabouts at the following junctions:

Cockfosters Road/Mount Pleasant
Cockfosters Road/Westpole Avenue

A concept design should be developed showing how the mini-roundabouts might be implemented within current highway limits and meeting all relevant technical standards. In addition, an assessment of the benefits/disbeneits of the proposals for buses, pedestrians and cyclists should be undertaken.

TRL's Picady/Junctions should be used to model the existing situation and TRL's Arcady/Junctions used to model the impact of the mini-roundabouts.

The results of the study should be set out in a short technical report, together with a recommendttion whether or not to proceed with the mini-roundabout option.
