description
Cheshire West and Chester Council is undertaking a piece of work that seeks to provide a collective overview of its four ?Programme Area Strategies? with the aim of developing an integrated ?Growth Strategy?.
This will ensure that all existing strategies and their programmes are brought more in line with each other and with the overarching strategic direction now emerging from the sub-regional agenda.
At the Sub-regional and National level we have mapped the key strategic themes and priorities for growth. Mapping these and defining them as ?strategic hooks? will now help and guide us to identify some of the key linkages with the four programme areas.
At the West Cheshire level we aim to bring together the various strategies that we have in place, identifying key priorities and key links that cut across and are relevant to Cheshire West and Chester and its four programmes.
The predominance of wider national EU and global trends on our local economies is greater now than ever before. As such we need to be in a position to be able to identify the key linkages and Key threads between what we are delivering through our key area programmes and the strategic priorities set out at the sub-regional and national levels.
The above work will be developed and published in-house by CWaC officers.
Programme Area Strategies
Cheshire West and Chester Borough CouncilWe are now in a position to appoint a consultant to carry out the review of the four programme area strategies.
Whilst each of the four programme area teams and Development Boards work to a set of strategic documents it is felt that these need to be updated to reflect current initiatives, opportunities, challenges and priorities.
The consultants role is to work with key stakeholders in each of the four programme areas to agree what these priorities are whilst integrating each area strategy to the Cheshire West and Chester Growth Strategy and then above that, to the sub-regional and National strategic picture for Growth.
