description

The Saxon Chapel forms part of the complex of monastic buildings associated with the former Augustinian Priory which was founded in 1821-9. The chapel pre-dates this and the foundation was constructed circa 1100. It is a Scheduled Ancient Monument and Grade 2* listed. Following dissolution of the monasteries mid 16th Century the chapel become redundant and was incorporated into the adjacent Priory Farm serving until recently as a barn with a central throughway.

Scope of Work:

The works include masonry repairs, timber repairs to roofs and re-roofing with improvement works to create a low key function room.

Timescales:

1st February: Issuing of tender documentation.

26th February: Tender deadline.
