Airport Fire Station

As part of Cranfield University's approved masterplan the University are planning to replace their existing Airport Fire Station with a new, modern BREEAM excellent facility that will conform to the CAA regulations.

Initially, the University is seeking expressions of interest from Contractors only and this as such does not constitute a commitment by the University to engage a Contractor or undertake the design and works, seeking merely to engage with the market place to quantify the level of suitable Contractors available to the University.

An artist's impression and room data sheets will be available to provide you with the Universities vision. The University will be looking for an experienced design and build Contractor to complete the works and the design.

This project will be undertaken using JCT Design and Build (DB 2011) form of contract.

The construction budget will be approximately £1.5m inclusive of VAT. and will include for associated fees etc.

The University has a desirable criterion for Contractors to consider when placing an expression of interest:

You will be expected to have a proven record of undertaking both design and the completion of works, and have worked with airports and associated authorities.

You will be expected to develop this design further using the University's design standards with input from internal and external stakeholders.

You will be expected to obtain planning permisson.

You will be expected to deliver a design and undertake the construction works in both building and external surroundings using the most cost effective building methods available.
