description

***** THIS IS AN AWARD NOTICE, NOT A CALL FOR COMPETITION *****

This procurement is being concluded following a mini competition under the Crown Commercial Services - RM6126 DPS Framework.

Brief Description of Requirement

Accelerating the transition from fossil fuels and delivering on the UK's carbon budget commitments depends critically on how quickly we can roll out new renewables and associated electricity transmission infrastructure. The Net Zero Strategy committed the UK to aiming to deploy renewable technologies at significantly increased rates. Since then, the British Energy Security Strategy (BESS) has gone further, setting out ambitions for up to 50GW of offshore wind by 2030, new community-backed onshore wind in England, and expectations of up to 70GW of solar capacity by 2035.
