Lot 1 - General Waste & Recycling Lot 4 - Confidential Waste
Lot 5 - Waste Electrical & Electronic Equipment
of the Total Waste Management Services Framework. The Authority anticipates awarding lots to more than one supplier. As the Framework Agreement is structured in Lots, the contracting Authority listed has on obligation to award against these individual Lots which may result in the Waste Services being tendered in this further competition being delivered by one or more suppliers
- The provision of Waste Services includes activities to be performed by the approved supplier in relation to the safe and sustainable management of wastes produced from the Participating Authority. This covers the safe handling, collection, segregation, storage, transportation, processing and disposal/re-use/recovery of waste materials where appropriate to support the best outcomes for the environment and minimise the harmful effects of waste. These contracted activities are to be performed in compliance with all relevant regulatory, statutory and other standards and legislation. It also covers the associated certification and reporting requirements required to support the Authority to meet its Duty of Care obligations.
The Lot 1 - General Waste & Recycling, Lot 4 - Confidential Waste and Lot 5 - Waste Electrical & Electronic Equipment will encompass the following:
- oSupport the safe and sustainable management of wastes produced from Participating Authorities.
- oAssist the Participating Authority to adopt the Waste Hierarchy (Article 4 of the revised EU Waste Framework Directive) and Environment Agency requirements by identifying opportunities and measures where possible to prevent waste and apply the Waste Hierarchy supporting the best outcomes for the environment e.g. Prevent, Reuse, Recycle, Other Recovery (waste to energy recovery), Disposal.
- oProvide (and maintain in serviceable condition and clean) waste containers appropriate for relevant waste streams, which may include, where required, provision of any specialist equipment such as compactors and other handling equipment including lifting equipment and relevant safety equipment.
- oFor sites using an exchange container service, deliver empty waste containers and collect filled waste containers on an agreed schedule for the Participating Authority's respective premises and to a service level agreed with the Participating Authority.
- oFor smaller sites not using a container service, remove waste bags, containers etc. on an agreed schedule for each Authority's respective premises
- oDispose of all waste collected from each site at a suitably permitted facility.
- oProvide all vehicles and resources required to collect and remove the waste from the Authority's' premises;
