description

Hyden Lane is a section of Public Byway that forms part of the South Downs Way National Trail (SDW), a 100 mile long-distance path that spans the entire length of the South Downs National Park. Hyden Lane is well used by walkers, cyclists, equestrians and motor vehicles all-year-round and is now in need of some restoration work. The surface of the byway has degraded in several sections with deep puddles spanning the entire width of the track. There are five sections of surface on this stretch than need repairs which total 940 metres in length with an average width of 3 metres.
