Portsmouth City Council ('the council') is inviting tenders from suitably qualified suppliers to provide an employment support service for autistic people in Portsmouth. The aim of this service will be to support adults (18+) with an autism diagnosis. The service will also be open to support other neuro-divergent individuals, including individuals who are self-diagnosed depending on capacity. Individuals who are resident within the Portsmouth city boundary (i.e., PO1 -PO6) will be eligible for this service.
The overarching aim of this service is to provide a flexible and responsive approach to give autistic people the opportunity to participate in all forms of work, whenever possible in, or leading to, paid work and self-employment, and to make a valued contribution to their community in alignment to the key service outcomes as set out in Appendix One of the Service Specification attached.
The objective of this service is to support at least 10 autistic people into work during the first 12 months, providing employability, cognitive profiles and the other key outcomes defined in Section A of the Service Specification attached. Sustaining employment whilst at work through regular support, advice and advocacy where required.
The estimated value of the contract is £50,000.
The initial contract term will be for 1 year with possibility of extending the term by a further 1 year to a maximum total term of 2 years, subject to additional funding being resourced and in increments to be agreed, subject to the agreement and performance of both parties.
