Landscape Enterprise Networks - Hampshire Avon Pilot

To take an innovative Landscape Exchange Networks (LENS) approach to delivering NE's objectives to restore ecosystem health to the Hampshire Avon catchment.

The specific objectives are to:

• Identify business interests and the motivation for those businesses to invest in the ecosystem health of the Hampshire Avon
• Establish a business network within the Hampshire Avon landscape that will bring about both the resources to deliver the restoration of ecosystem health and the long term cultural shift in the ways businesses operate that will reduce their supply chain impacts on the Natural Capital of the river for the long term.
• Produce a joint development plan for the core businesses to invest in the natural environment of the Hampshire Avon catchment.
• Establish a framework for this business network to actively engage with the Hampshire Avon Partnership that is primarily composed of government, NGO interests and water companies.

These objectives will be delivered by trialling an operational phase of the LENS approach (developed by 3Keel and Nestle to Proof of Concept stage in the Eden catchment in Cumbria and the Cam Ely and Ouse catchment in Cambridgeshire and further developed by David Burton NE) enabling the approach to be co-developed by NE and adopted as a mainstream government incentive in the Defra group post Brexit programmes for resilient landscapes and the farmed environment.
