description
Ofwat currently has eight programmes to support the delivery of Ofwat Forward Programme - Casework, Compliance and Assurance, Thames Tideway, Water2020, Retail Market Opening, Strategy and Planning, Finance and Governance and Business Transformation.
This requirement primarily relates to work under Casework and Compliance and Assurance. Ofwat requires legal services to support primarily its Casework Programme and some elements of its Compliance and Assurance Programme, but also to support some aspects of the work of certain other Programme steams.
Ofwat has an internal team of 9 lawyers who deliver advice and support to Ofwat programmes. To enable us to manage current internal resource difficulties and the peaks of legal work, Ofwat requires external legal support on work in relation to primarily these two programmes.
The objective is to ensure that Ofwat has call-off services in place, which will provide the expertise and technical support needed in order to fulfil our statutory functions, primarily in relation to our Casework Programme and the FOIA, EIR, and transparency of government contracts aspects of our Compliance and Assurance Programme.
Ofwat requires high quality relevant legal advice in an approachable, appropriate and timely manner to enable the relevant teams to deal with / respond to matters within the set legal or policy time frames.
Additional information: For further information, please contact: procurement@ofwat.gsi.gov.uk
Please note that this is a call-off contract so it is difficult to quantify exact spend.
