description

Deadline for submission of quotes 30 October 2021.

Reason for works:

This section of the Peddars way has fallen into disrepair following extensive flooding during the winter of 2020/2021

Following this flooding the path has suffered from increasing amounts of damage due to very soft surface.

Description of works:

Surface scrape up to 100mm to 3 metre width x 600 metres length to create level surface

Surface to be laid as highlighted in attached drawings (Type 1 sub-base with granite fines mechanically tamped down)

Parcel of land to the area between gate and access on to the Wretham circular footpath (Approx. 7 m x 3m) to be cleared to a depth of 1 to 1.5m. A Drain / Aqua Cell / Soakaway to be installed within the area excavated.

Also running on the right hand side (bridge side) a Culvert needs to be installed to take away any surface runoff caused by the slope of the path into the soakaway. This needs to be approx. 9m long and 1.5 metres deep and filled with pea shingle to allow water to soak into the drain.

New surface laid throughout the 600 metres with a cross camber to allow any surface water to drain into the French drain and aqua cell area
