The Council wishes to invite quotes for the supply of services by an appropriately qualified consultant in respect of undertaking of an assessment of the capacity of landscapes within the Borough to absorb solar photovoltaic development. The purpose of the study is to inform the review of Local Plan policies, the content of supplementary planning documents and guidance notes, and the determination of planning applications across the Borough. The focus is for the selected consultancy to work in partnership with the Council and key partners to provide a detailed evidence base concerning the capacity of individual landscape character areas (LCAs) to accommodate different scales of ground-mounted solar photovoltaic developments, including specifically larger projects up to and in excess of 50MW.
