The main aim of the research is to understand existing production in the small (<70hl/year) cider market and how this differs from larger cider producers.
Additionally, the research is needed to understand the adaptability of companies to changing market conditions.
Research findings will help HMRC and HMT to provide accurate evidence to support decisions to ensure small cider producers are not disadvantaged.
Additional information: This contract was let by a mini competition within the DWP Social and Economic Research Framework 2013.
