description
North of England Commissioning Support are working for and on behalf of NHS - England (Yorkshire and the Humber) who wish to commission Intermediate Minor Oral Surgery Services.
NHS England – North (Yorkshire and the Humber) is seeking to procure high quality Intermediate Minor Oral Services (IMOS) for West Yorkshire provided through eight lots.
Lot 1: Bradford North Lot 2: Bradford South Lot 3: Calderdale Lot 4: Leeds North Lot 5: Leeds South Lot 6: North Kirklees Lot 7: Greater Huddersfield Lot 8: Wakefield
These services will be provided in line with the National Guide for Commissioning Oral Surgery and Oral Medicine, 2015 for patients with a defined need who are unable to be treated by a General Dental Practitioner (GDP) within primary dental care and for whom the complexity of their treatment need does not necessitate care provision in a secondary care setting.
The IMOS services will work closely with a Referral Management Service, relevant clinical networks, commissioners and primary and secondary providers to ensure appropriate timely, effective and safe intermediate minor oral surgery treatment to the local population.
Please note this is a voluntary notice as healthcare services are currently Part B regime in accordance with the Public Contracts Regulations 2006 (as amended), and therefore compliance to the full regulations is not mandatory. The new Public Contracts Regulations 2015 are now in force however there is a delay in application of the Light Touch Regime (LTR) to the commissioning of health services for the purposes of the NHS. Regulation 120 provides that the LTR will only apply to the procurement (“commissioning”) of health services for the purposes of the NHS from 18 April 2016. The basic principles of the Open Procedure will be followed to commission this service thus ensuring a fair, open and transparent process in accordance with NHS (Procurement, Patient Choice and Competition) (No. 2) Regulations 2013.
