'The Council wishes to award a single source Framework contract to a building control body (either an Approved Inspector or a Local Authority) to undertake Building Control activities across its projects to ensure safe and compliant buildings. Building works carried out by the Council are subject to the same procedural requirements under the Building Act 1984 as those carried out by any other commercial developer. The provision of this service is county wide and the Council wishes to be clear that it seeks a single organisation capable of providing the service across the entire geographic county area of North Yorkshire which encompasses the 7 borough and district authority areas (Craven District Council, Hambleton District Council, Harrogate Borough Council,Richmondshire District Council, Ryedale District Council, Scarborough Borough Council and Selby District Council).'
