description

To assess the maturity of industry capabilities, the Home Office ran Biometric Self-Enrolment Feasibility Trials in November and December 2021. A report summarising the findings of the trials is published https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/biometric-self-enrolment-feasibility-trials/biometric-self-enrolment-feasibility-trials

The Home Office is now planning the next phase of biometric self-enrolment technology testing. It will be splitting up the technology testing into:

1.Self-service kiosk pilot
2.Second round of feasibility trials focussed on smartphone apps

We are delighted to invite industry and academia to an open engagement event on the Home Office's vision for biometrics, which will include more details on the next steps following the November 2021 feasibility trials. The event will be hosted by JSaRC and will be held on Thursday, 14 July 2022 from 15:00 - 17:00, via MS Teams. Please register your interest here. https://www.homeofficesurveys.homeoffice.gov.uk/s/STIUX8/
