The Purchase of a Mobile Device Management (MDM) Solution

Housing & Care 21 are currently in the process of redeveloping their core business infrastructure, culminating in new Housing and Finance systems. Part of this redevelopment involves Operations staff being more mobile in their roles when using the new functionality of the systems. As such, up to 800 tablets will be purchased to aid this change. This will act as Phase 2 of the contract (see specification for details of Phase 1) and will form the sole discussion of this tender exercise Further to this, Housing & Care 21 currently possesses a mobile phone estate of 750 devices, of which 300 are smart phones. Adding these to the agreement will take place in Phase 3. This is coupled to a number of staff utilising their personal phone for their role, which totals approximately 100 people. Their addition to any contract will be considered as Phase 4.

The main objective of this tender is to appoint a supplier to provide a comprehensive solution to manage and protect all devices stipulated above. The devices will be remotely managed and maintained via the MDM solution to provide support and software updates and changes in line with business requirements. The solution will also secure the device to prevent unauthorised use and installation of software that is not corporately required.
