description

An opportunity has arisen for interested parties to bid for an Integrated Criminal Justice Substance Misuse Service. The new service will replace and integrate the current services; Substance Misuse Team (SMT) which delivers community orders (DRR, ATR), Criminal Justice Intervention Team (CJIT) which supports statutory and non-statutory offenders and the Rapid Access Team (RAT) which delivers the prescribing needs of CJIT clients and delivers interventions for complex needs clients.

The emphasis for this team will be the reduction of re-offending amongst the clientele and the provider will be expected to work with all the partnership agencies that are involved in the reducing re-offending agenda.

The Integrated Criminal Justice Substance Misuse Team will be expected to work within the delivery of Transforming Rehabilitation by engaging with all prison releases and community sentences where substance misuse is identified. The service will be recovery focussed to enable all the clientele to enter into a recovery journey that addresses individual needs and individual offending choices.

It is anticipated that the service will commence on 1st April 2015 for a period of 12 months, with the option to extend for up to a further 2 years (+1+1) at the Councils sole discretion.
