description

As part of the re-design of existing smoking cessation services, contract(s) will be competitively tendered during 2015 for the provision of an integrated tobacco control and smoking cessation service for all ages across all seven districts of Nottinghamshire (Mansfield, Ashfield, Newark and Sherwood, Bassetlaw, Gedling, Broxtowe and Rushcliffe)

It is possible that this procurement may be carried out as a joint procurement with Nottingham City Council. However, the City Council is not in a position yet to confirm this and their procurement may not encompass all aspects of the Nottinghamshire County Council procurement.

The range of services to be offered will seek to secure a contribution in reducing smoking rates and the harm caused by tobacco use through a creative and innovative approach.

The procurement is led by Nottinghamshire County Council. The procurement exercise will include;

Universal Smoking Cessation Services across all seven districts of Nottinghamshire County.

Initiatives that prevent people, particularly young and vulnerable people from starting to smoke

Initiatives that protect people and communities from tobacco related harm - including elements of illegal tobacco, harm reduction and smokefree environments.

Targeted Smoking Cessation Services for priority groups as agreed by the Health and Wellbeing Board across all seven districts of Nottinghamshire County.

Services will be accessed based on residency or GP registration in Nottinghamshire County

The Council is to undertake a soft market testing exercise and consultation to canvass independent views to support and shape the specification.

Additional Information:

An approach document is to be made available to all interested providers

Any questions regarding the approach document should be submitted by Tuesday 26th August at 12 noon so they can be addressed at individual meetings. Expressions of interest to take part in this Soft Marketing need to be registered through this portal Individual Provider meetings will be arranged during the period 26th August 19th September 2014

Neither the intention nor the purposes of this soft market testing exercise is to confer any advantage upon its participants in any future procurement process.
