Bungay Town Council invites tenders for the refurbishment of the children's play area at King's Road Recreation Area, for children aged 5-11 years old. The project includes the removal of existing equipment, supply and installation of new play equipment, safety surfacing, and associated groundworks, with a total project budget of £50,000.
Scope of Works:
| 1. | Removal of Existing Equipment |
| o | Dismantling and removal of all existing play equipment. |
| o | Safe and environmentally responsible disposal of old equipment. |
| o | Site clearance and preparation for installation of new equipment. |
| 2. | New Play Equipment Supply and Installation |
| o | Provision of a range of durable, and exciting play equipment for children aged 5-11 years. |
| o | Installation of equipment to ensure compliance with British Standards (BS EN 1176 and BS EN 1177). |
| o | Equipment should encourage active play, social interaction, creativity, and inclusive access. |
| o | Consideration for a mix of physical, imaginative, and sensory play elements. |
| o | Installation of suitable safety surfacing, such as rubber mulch, wet pour, or another impact-absorbing surface. |
| 3. | Groundworks and Landscaping |
| o | Any required groundworks, including levelling, drainage, and landscaping. |
| o | Edge treatment for safety surfaces. |
| o | Provision of benches and bins as appropriate. |
| 4. | Safety and Compliance |
| o | All works must meet health and safety regulations, including RoSPA inspection standards upon completion. |
| o | Contractors must ensure that all materials used are safe, durable, and long-lasting. |
| o | Provision of maintenance guidelines and guarantees for the equipment. |
Budget:
- The total budget for the project, including removal of old equipment and installation of new equipment, is £50,000 (ex VAT).
Timeline:
- Work to begin in Spring/Summer 2024.
Tender Requirements: Interested parties should submit the following:
