The University of Southampton is home to the Wessex Institute which oversees a growing number of research funding programmes, including those that are managed on behalf of the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) and Health & Care Research Wales.

The Wessex Institute provides high-quality, practice-based research to support decision makers in health and healthcare. We have particular expertise in added-value health research management and in health technology assessment, and host a growing number of nationally important, internationally recognised centres. Our other work includes scientific programme management and consultancy; we exist to make a difference to society through research.

The largest centre within the Wessex Institute is the NIHR Evaluation, Trials and Studies Coordinating Centre (NETSCC) which hosts the NIHR Journals Library, an internationally renowned open access journals series publishing a full account of research funded by the NIHR. We are seeking a supplier of publishing production services to deliver the NIHR Journals Library taking full responsibility for all editorial and production processes from receipt of approved, peer-reviewed manuscripts to the delivery of digital files ready for publication in all standard formats.

NIHR Journals Library reports titles are well established and the contractor will be expected to provide files for online publication for the volumes that start in January 2018. The contract for producing the NIHR Journals Library will be between the contractor and the University of Southampton. The contract will run for five years.
